Hello, so here is a little history about Akasa Design. Akasa is an Edmonton based graphic design studio, established with a very simple philosophy: everyone deserves great design, no matter how big or small the company. Founded in 2001 by Melinda Cushing, Akasa Design has always strived to meet this mission.

 

Akasa Design has had the opportunity to work with numerous clients throughout the Edmonton and surrounding area, across Canada and internationally all with varied needs, be it logo design, invitation design, website design, a rebranding strategy or an expansion of their corporate look; all great design is created the same way, by communication, understanding and creativity. 

 

Melinda has 20+ years experience as a graphic designer, with 16 of those years as a freelance/contract designer, with a strong background in print, corporate and invitation design, branding and identity development. Having started in the publishing industry and with various print houses locally, she knows the ins and outs and limits of print. Always wanting to learn new skills, since the design world is ever changing and evolving, she has expanded her knowledge to include digital applications as well, including digital ad campaigns, animated GIFs and website design.
